New Orleans
I present to you in pictures my first trip to the United States, more precisely to New Orleans in 2019.
A journey of the heart that I really wanted to make to find one of the sources of Jazz, Soul, Blues. Music that particularly touches me. A colorful, festive, and welcoming city.
After the passage of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, 14 years before, many scars are still very present, but one thing struck me.
Despite living conditions that one can imagine are difficult with life much more expensive than in Paris and a good part of the people who live on tips to supplement their salaries, I was able to feel a certain joy of living and benevolence.
When a waitress dances with joy behind her counter after giving her $5 in tips, another who tells you with joy and gratitude that she works in a shopping center, another who thanks you and tells you that he will look behind you for two 25c coins that I had left in my pocket! You can feel it.
Not disappointed, however, with hope in my pocket, the city is rebuilding, rich in humanity, full of music, beautiful and very much alive!
This trip made alone, definitely, will have surprised me beyond what I have seen or heard here and there.
